Tom Cruise received a hearty surprise at the London premiere of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning on May 15, when Sinners star Michael B. Jordan showed up to celebrate the action icon’s latest outing.

Cruise, 62, looked visibly moved as he embraced Jordan, 38, on the red carpet. The pair shared a candid conversation before posing for photographers, exchanging smiles and appreciation. Jordan later posted the moment on Instagram, writing, “I was too young to see the first Mission Impossible in the theater, but now I get a chance to watch the final one… in IMAX!!!! Much love @tomcruise.”

The moment marked a full-circle tribute between two box-office titans. Cruise recently praised Jordan’s groundbreaking vampire horror film Sinners, calling it a “must see in a cinema” in a social media post. Jordan responded with gratitude, saying, “Thanks for the love and support!!!”

Directed by Ryan Coogler, Sinners has stunned industry watchers, racking up $220 million domestically and $290 million globally. It’s also the first horror film in over 35 years to earn an A CinemaScore. In a video posted online, Jordan said, “I’m speechless… I just want to say thank you” to fans who made the film a cultural and commercial triumph.

As for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, the eighth installment in the long-running spy saga premiered globally at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and hits theaters May 23. The film reunites Cruise with director Christopher McQuarrie and co-stars Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, and Angela Bassett.

When asked if this marks his final turn as Ethan Hunt, Cruise stayed coy. “Let us show the movie tonight… The culmination has come to this moment,” he told an audience at Cannes.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning opens in India on May 17.
