EDMONTON, CANADA APRIL 13: The Tesla ‘Launch Series’ – a special, fully-loaded edition of the new … More
A few 2026 “Juniper” Model Y and a crush of 2025 Model Y are landing in Tesla used inventory.
Tesla began delivering the new Model Y – officially designated as the 2026 model year – in volume in April, triggering a surge in new, low-mileage Model Ys in used inventory. The “used” 2026 Long-Range All-Wheel Drive Model Ys appear to be virtually new and come with extras such as – in one case – a Launch edition with 381 miles, 20’’ Helix 2.0 Wheels, a tow hitch, and Acceleration Boost.
A few 2026 ‘Juniper’ Model Y have shown up in Tesla used inventory.
The bulk of the newest of the used vehicles are 2025 models, many with mileage below 5,000 miles. For example, a 2025 Long Range All-Wheel Drive with 1,651 miles is $39,600. That price beats a new Juniper 2026 Long-Range All-Wheel Drive Model Y priced at $41,490 (with the $7,500 federal tax credit factored in) by almost $2,000.
And 2025 Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive are also in the mix. One is priced at $35,100 with 4,199 miles. That includes Ultra Red Paint and an All Black Premium Interior. That price is $2,390 less than a new 2026 Juniper Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive priced at $37,490 with the tax credit factored in.
2025 Model Y are also populating used car marketplaces such as CarGurus. Many are also low-mileage. For example, a 2025 Tesla Model Y Performance AWD with 4,364 miles is priced at $41,499. By comparison, a new 2025 Tesla Model Y Performance was priced at $51,490 sans the federal tax credit. With the credit, the price was $43,990 (before taxes and fees).
Used 2024 Tesla Model Y are also flooding Tesla’s used inventory as well as used car marketplaces. Many with fairly low-mileage that typically falls somewhere between 10,000 and 20,000 miles.
